Decades of acclaim, culminating in a successful run on Broadway
I have 30 years of leadership experience across the performing and visual arts. Prior to establishing my consulting practice, I served Roundabout Theatre Company--the nation’s largest nonprofit theatre, with three Broadway and two Off-Broadway venues--as Director of Marketing & Audience Development. During my tenure with Roundabout, I marketed eight Broadway shows and reversed a nine-year decline in subscription sales. I promoted the company’s enormously successful 50th-Anniversary Season, which featured Keira Knightley, Judith Light, Clive Owen, Andrea Martin, Campbell Scott, Steven Pasquale, Jane Krakowski, Laura Benanti, Michael Shannon, Gabriel Byrne, and Jessica Lange, among others.
Before Roundabout, I served Berkeley Repertory Theatre, one of the nation’s leading regional theatres, as senior marketing & communications officer. There I marketed 28 world premiere productions and five Broadway-bound shows including Tony Kushner & Maurice Sendak’s Brundibar, Carrie Fisher’s Wishful Drinking, Stew’s Passing Strange, Green Day’s American Idiot, and No Man’s Land with Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. I also worked on shows with Anna Deavere Smith, Eve Ensler, Kathleen Turner, Rita Moreno, David Henry Hwang, Delroy Lindo, Mandy Patinkin, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. I presided over five consecutive seasons of record-breaking attendance and revenue, and helped launch Berkeley Rep’s highly regarded Ground Floor new play development program.
I worked for San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre (ACT) in the same capacity from 1994 through 2000. During that time the Theatre rebuilt and reopened its national historic landmark theatre, launched a nine-month run of Angels in America (still the company’s most successful show ever), and grew its annual audience to the largest in company history, achieving record-level subscription sales.
I have also held senior marketing positions with the San Francisco Jazz Organization (SFJAZZ) and Arizona Theatre Company. I served as general manager of the North Shore Music Theatre of Beverly, MA, the largest nonprofit professional theatre in New England, and as senior institutional relations officer for San Francisco Ballet.
